This sounds really good. We use the Human Made version. https://github.com/humanmade/Custom-Meta-Boxes

So going forward Human Made is going to be collaborating on CMB2.

Have there been discussion on how to migration from HM/CMB to CMB2?

  Hey hey! We’re in the pretty early stages of planning/ideas, but I imagine a migration path will be a pretty important priority. I think the first priority for the Human Made team (I’ll let them verify) is to try and get CMB2 in a place for VIP review.
  
  Also, I’ll get w/ the others to check how they want to manage the slack, but I imagine that should be no problem.

  It hasn’t been discussed formally but I know that internally at HM we’re also looking at ways to make the migration process easier and I think that @brad was possibly looking at that recently.

Is there a rough roadmap somewhere? Or is that also in the planning stage?

  There is not a public one, no. A roadmap would indicate more promises than I’m willing to give. :) The priority of what gets worked on is based on a complex balance of 1) What I want to work on, 2) how close a PR is, 3) greasing the squeakiest wheel, 4) a feature I need or bugfix I need, 5) whether I have time to bite off a big chunk of big ticket item.
